The Detroit Lions are a professional American football team based in Detroit, Michigan. They are members of the National Football Conference (NFC) North division. The Lions were founded in 1934 as the Portsmouth Spartans and moved to Detroit in 1935.  

The Lions have won four NFL championships, but their most recent title came in 1957. They have experienced many years of struggles in recent decades, but they have a passionate fan base known as “Lions Nation” who remain loyal to the team despite its ups and downs.
